MP5 is an artist known for the incisive black and white used in different media. The studies in animation and in set design for theater led to develop the artistic research on different levels: from audio/video installations to mural interventions up to projects related to the research theater.
The visuals refer to classical art giving form to an imagery that underlies a critical and politically engaged vision of reality. Strongly active in the European underground art and counterculture scene,
in the last ten years MP5 became one of the most prominent visual artists of the trans queer feminist movement. The pseudonym reflects the will to overcome belonging to a predefined genre.
MP5’s artworks were exhibited in relevant international festivals and art institutions, such as the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome, Centro Pecci in Prato, the XII Biennal of European and Mediterranean Young Artists, the Triennale of Milan, the Macro Museum in Rome, La Condition Publique de Roubaix, the Theatre of Palazzo Grassi in Venice, The Art Plus Art Fair in Shanghai.
Their public mural works can be seen in England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Sweden, U.S.A, Hong Kong.
MP5 has collaborated with Wunderkammern gallery in Italy, with the Lazarides gallery in the UK, with the brand Gucci, with the designer and gallerist Agnès B and with the director Abel Ferrara. They represented Italy for the project La Tour 13 in Paris.
Their artworks and public artworks were published on several newspapers and magazines including Rolling Stone, i-D Vice, Le Monde Diplomatique, Vogue, No-Man’s land- The Wing, Juxtapoz, Cosmopolitan.
They are currently working together with Gucci on “Chime for Change”, a global campaign for gender equality.
