Mucciaccia Gallery presents \u201cImirage\u201d, an exhibition by Jeffrey Kroll, supported by Samsung and several other prominent global partners.
This exhibition will present groundbreaking artworks wedding mobile phone photography to painting. Kroll created the world\u2019s first integration of these two mediums.
The \u201cImirage\u201d hybrid works are a visual drama, a subtle and deceptive interaction of painted space and digital space; a fusion of monoscopic space from the eye of the camera and stereoscopic space from the eye of the painter. The power of painting imbues the digital medium with a deeper more profound resonance.<\/p>\n

Jeffrey Kroll is the first painter to be supported by Samsung. It is his intention to humanise the digital format and explore its visual possibilities. In a world glutted with digital reproduction Kroll reintroduces the hierarchical force of painting and expresses the mysterious aura of what has always been true in great art, a revelation of form and poetic drama.\u00a0The hybrid mixed media works comprise a proportion of the artist’s overall ouerve.\u00a0The main focus of his work is pure painting which guides all other avenues of his expression .\u00a0Like many artists of the past,(Rembrandt, Piranesi, Lautrec, etc )\u00a0 he continues to explore the potential of new reproductive technologies.<\/p>\n

New York born Kroll is based in NYC and the UK. He has exhibited in many venues such as the Louvre and Le Carrousel de Louvre in Paris, the Saatchi Gallery in London, the Velan Foundation of Contemporary Art in Turin to name a few and was an official artist of the London 2012 Olympic Games. His work is widely collected by a diverse audience.<\/p>\n

The Times described his work as \u201c striking, colourful and beautiful\u201d, by Tatler as \u201cextraordinary and beautiful\u201d and by Anthony Haden-Guest, \u201c Kroll conducts us through a shifting space, which is phantasmagoric but as \u201creal\u201d as geometry or physics, enabling him to make paintings of haunting beauty\u201d.<\/p>\n
