Born into a family of advertisers and art lovers, Cristiano Pintaldi is well known for his personal technique of image deconstruction by pixels, allowing him to recreate digital images on canvas. At the beginning of his career in the Nineties, he was attracted by the advent of the television and considered it a container of \u201cshared reality\u201d. In response, he developed a painting style made only with the primary colors, red, blue and green. Set on a black background, they are drawn close together, in the same way pixels are arranged to create the images seen on a television screen. The \u201cdots construction\u201d of digital images made by several pixels represents popular culture subjects such as cartoons, movies, TV series and shows, science fiction cult movies and Kubrick\u2019s masterpieces. Using a laborious and time-consuming handcrafted method, the artist uses a one square centimeter mask, which contains three vertical parallel signs of the three colors, and applies on several layers of paint with an aerograph. For the artist, this new exhibition at MACRO represents a natural evolution of his work. There are works based on his favorite subjects, such as the \u201ccollective sharing\u201d phenomenon and the limits, analysis and synthesis between reality and fiction. From 3rd October 2015 to 10th January 2016, MACRO TESTACCIO MUSEUM IN ROME<\/strong> presents the new solo exhibition of the roman artist Cristiano Pintaldi, from matter to light<\/em>, <\/strong>curated by Stella Santacatterina<\/strong> and promoted by Assessorato Cultura e Sport di Roma - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali<\/strong>, in collaboration with Galleria Mucciaccia<\/strong>. Born into a family of advertisers and art lovers, Cristiano Pintaldi is well known for his personal technique of image deconstruction by pixels, allowing him to recreate digital images on canvas. At the beginning of his career in the Nineties, he was attracted by the advent of the television and considered it a container of \u201cshared reality\u201d. In response, he developed a painting style made only with the primary colors, red, blue and green. Set on a black background, they are drawn close together, in the same way pixels are arranged to create the images seen on a television screen. The \u201cdots construction\u201d of digital images made by several pixels represents popular culture subjects such as cartoons, movies, TV series and shows, science fiction cult movies and Kubrick\u2019s masterpieces. Using a laborious and time-consuming handcrafted method, the artist uses a one square centimeter mask, which contains three vertical parallel signs of the three colors, and applies on several layers of paint with an aerograph. For the artist, this new exhibition at MACRO represents a natural evolution of his work. There are works based on his favorite subjects, such as the \u201ccollective sharing\u201d phenomenon and the limits, analysis and synthesis between reality and fiction. The artist\u2019s attention shifts from television images towards the internet and social networks.
