MP5 is an artist known for the incisive black and white used in different media. The stud\u00adies in animation and in set design for theater led to develop the artistic research on differ\u00adent levels: from audio\/video installations to mural interventions up to projects related to the research theater.<\/p>\n

The visuals refer to classical art giving form to an imagery that underlies a critical and politically engaged vision of reality. Strongly active in the European underground art and counterculture scene,<\/p>\n

in the last ten years MP5 became one of the most prominent visual artists of the trans queer feminist movement. The pseudonym reflects the will to overcome belonging to a predefined genre.<\/p>\n

MP5\u2019s artworks were exhibited in relevant international festivals and art institutions, such as the Galleria Nazionale d\u2019Arte Moderna in Rome, Centro Pecci in Prato, the XII Biennal of European and Mediterranean Young Artists, the Triennale of Milan, the Macro Museum in Rome, La Condition Publique de Roubaix, the Theatre of Palazzo Grassi in Venice, The Art Plus Art Fair in Shanghai.<\/p>\n

Their public mural works can be seen in England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Sweden, U.S.A, Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

MP5 has collaborated with\u00a0Wunderkammern gallery in Italy, with the Lazarides gallery in the UK, with the brand Gucci, with the designer and gallerist Agn\u00e8s B and with the director Abel Ferrara. They represented Italy for the project La Tour 13 in Paris.<\/p>\n

Their artworks and public artworks were published on several newspapers and magazines including Rolling Stone, i-D Vice, Le Monde Diplomatique, Vogue, No-Man\u2019s land- The Wing, Juxtapoz, Cosmopolitan.<\/p>\n

They are currently working together with Gucci on \u201cChime for Change\u201d, a global campaign for gender equality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

After\u00a0her studies at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence, she moves to Rome in 1946. Together with her future husband, Antonio Sanfilippo, they found Forma 1 in 1947, with also Turcato, Attardi, Perilli, Dorazio and Guerrini. The Group considers the geometric lines\u00a0as pure form toward abstraction and formalism, rejecting any link of continuity with the Italian painting of the last twenty years. After\u00a0the group Forma 1 breaks-up in 1951, Accardi continues her abstract, but concrete, research until 1952 and from 1954 she starts painting in black and white \u2013 the Negativi<\/i>. In\u00a01961, she reintroduces colours in her compositions, obtaining also optical effects. Accardi joins the Continuit\u00e0 Group, and prepares solo exhibitions\u00a0in\u00a0New York and\u00a0London. In\u00a0the 1970s,\u00a0she works with glazes on terracotta tiles and paints repeated geometric patterns on sicofoil,\u00a0transparent plastic instead of canvas. Using large sheets, she completes a series of works that investigate the relationship with the environment: Tenda<\/i> and Tripla tenda <\/i>for Galleria Editalia of Rome and for Venice Biennale 1976, Ambiente\/Arte Section. She participates at Venice Biennale in 1948, 1964, 1976, 1978, 1993 and in 1988 she is given a personal room. In the 1980s, Accardi returns to two-dimensional with the sequences of the Parentesi<\/i> and Capricci<\/i>. She exhibits in solo and group exhibitions abroad.\u00a0In 1996, Accardi is\u00a0named Accademico di Brera in Milan and in 1997 she receives the Cavaliere di Gran Croce.<\/p>\r\n\u00a0\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n\u00a0\r\n
