Roberto Miniati

Roberto Miniati was born in Rome on May 14, 1952 from a family of Florentine origins. He graduated, enrolled in the faculty of Psychology and attended several private academies. Ever since he was a boy he never stops loving, studying and living visual art.
Over time he refined his artistic knowledge more and more, coming into contact with gallery owners from all over Italy and becoming himself a passionate collector. At the same time he embarked on his personal pictorial activity, in which, while making explicit reference to the historical avant-gardes of the twentieth century, geometric abstractionism, American expressionism and post-World War II artists, he constantly sought his own individual figure. In his artistic practice he feels he can solve his own personal enigma simply with the things he loves most: color, gesture, sign. His is a painting not thought of, but internally mediated; unscheduled, yet always consistent with an ever-evolving inner research. His relationship with art is expressed consistently, alternating periods of study and cultural reflection and periods in which the pictorial production intensifies, concentrating in cycles of works.
From 1992 he began a significant exhibition activity, undertaking ongoing relationships over time with various galleries such as the Volos gallery (Rome) and the Mucciaccia gallery (Rome), the “25’17” gallery in Perm (Russia) and the Orler Gallery (Venice) , which also presents his works on the satellite channel of the same name.
In 2012 he participates, invited, in the 6th Biennale of Ferrara, always following in the same year the performance “suite 307” Hotel the First. In October 2013 he set up a large solo exhibition at the Magi’900 Museum in Pieve di Cento (Bologna), followed by an important solo show at the National Museum of Villa Pisani (Venice) and in 2014 participation in the triennial of Rome.
In 2015 he participated, with an installation, in the 56th international art exhibition “Biennale Di Venezia”
In 2016 he was invited by the municipality of Fiesole to exhibit one of his personal exhibitions in the prestigious “Sala del Basolato”, in the same year he participated in the International Biennial of Art in Asolo, winning first prize in the painting section with one of his works.
In 2017 present with a mini solo exhibition, he received a special mention at the Triennale di Roma. For the second time in a row, invited, he participated with one of his works at the 57th international art exhibition Biennale di Venezia 2017.
