Mucciaccia Gallery Cortina d’Ampezzo, is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Pizzi Cannella: Carte da Gioco o Mercante in fiera. The exhibition illustrates 44 small canvases (each of them cm 26,5x 19) realised by the artist, with mixed technique, during 2016.

The author of Maps, Cathedral, Queens and Jewels, conform his unique and precious language to a new project, focused on transporting the observer to different levels: not only the gaze, but also game and participation.

The “imaginary characters” of Pizzi Cannella’s artworks fuse together with the seeds of Neapolitan playing card, producing esoteric meanings, innovative tales and new possible interpretations.

In collaboration with Modiano, company leader in playing card industry, the small canvases were duplicated on cardboard, becoming suitable for “scopa” or for “mercante in fiera” game.

The exhibition will remain on view through all winter period.
