Andrea Conte, aka Andreco is a visual artist and also an environmental engineer PhD specialized in environmental sustainability and (NBS – Nature-based solutions) for climate change mitigation and adaptation. His Post-Doc researches have been focused on NBS for urban sustainability collaborating with the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Bologna and the Columbia University of New York City.
His artistic research is focused on the relation between humans and nature and between the built environment and the natural landscape. Andreco combines his artistic and scientific research in a single transdisciplinary approach and, on the basis of these researches, he is creating new conceptual icons, Climate Art Project is a project by Andreco dedicated to the causes and consequences of climate changes.
His language is iconic and conceptual, expressed by different techniques and media: from public installations to videos or wall paintings, drawings, sculptures and collective performances. Since 2001 he has been invited to several international festivals in Europe. His art pieces has been shown in many museums and galleries in Italy and abroad: Biennale of Architecture of Venice, Triennale of Milan, Saatchi Gallery of London, Centro Luigi Pecci of Prato, MACRO of Rome, just to mention a few. Winner of “Talent Prize 2017” special prize and also many Institutional calls and Jazzi winner, the competition for the rural regeneration, finalist for the Oscar for environmental communication 2019 on Climate Change.
